It doesn’t matter if you ask our customers or our producer partners, they’ll all say the same thing: Bottle Green’s wine expertise is a crucial value-added resource.
Through the work of our production team we have an international reputation for working with producers to ensure that the wine styles we supply are both unique and perfectly fitting for that required in this market, and at all the relevant price points. However this doesn’t happen by magic (though some of us sometimes wonder if there’s an element of that!), but by having an in-depth understanding of what the market requires and then having the dedication, commitment and skill to work day-in and day-out with producers to get this right. You can rest assured that there is no harder working team in the business.
But this is just part of the equation. The many hours spent by Nick Butler, our Australian Winemaking Director, blending and tweaking in wineries, and in our own laboratory and tasting room in Leeds, is only matched by the dedication to total quality provided by Paul Sanders, our Quality Assurance Manager. While Nick weaves his wonderful combination of science and art to produce the best possible liquid result, Paul is ensuring that wineries are fit for purpose in all respects.
No one patrols the production processes like our very own Mr Sanders! His advice and action-planning is simply second to none and he is hugely appreciated from Santiago to Rioja, and the Languedoc to Leeds. Paul is also heavily involved in winemaking, where Italy is his main focus.
And that’s not all, because working hand-in-hand with Nick and Paul is our very own Master of Wine, David Gill. David, like Nick and Paul, has been at Bottle Green for over 10 years and has spent his whole career in the wine trade. As an ex-retail buyer David is completely attuned to the needs of the market and is constantly discussing developments with Nick as well as leading all our internal tasting and education sessions.
In probably no other consumer goods business is the product so much at the heart of decision-making. At Bottle Green we recognise the importance of this and our wine expertise is at the core of what we do.
